Stokesley Community Care Association is a registered charity providing a range of services to support older people in our community. Established in 1987, we began by providing a Lunch Club and our services have grown and developed since then.
Our services are delivered by a dedicated team of local volunteers, supported by a small team of staff.
We exist to ensure that older residents of our community are able to remain as independent as possible by enabling them to access practical and social support.

Our befriending service connects people with friendly volunteers who offer regular social contact and help them stay involved in their community. Volunteers visit people in their homes for a chat or, if someone is able, take them out to a café or garden centre. Telephone befriending is also available. Contact can be either weekly or less often if preferred.

We understand that caring for a dependent family member or loved one can leave you with very little time for yourself. Our Carers’ Break service gives you the chance to take a well‑earned break, knowing your loved one is safe and well looked after. You can use this time to go out, run errands, or simply stay at home and relax with a book — whatever helps you recharge.

We are proud to have been appointed by North Yorkshire Council as the Community Anchor Organisation for the Stokesley and District area, part of a network of place-based organisations supporting community connection and resilience.

We offer community transport options to those living is Stokesley and the surrounding area who are unable to access transport due to age, mobility or rural locality. Services include a volunteer Community Car Scheme and fully accessible minibuses. All our drivers are volunteers who are Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checked and, in the case of minibus drivers, have undertaken MIDAS training.

Our day centre provides a safe and supportive group setting for people living with dementia and memory loss. The caring team provide a friendly and relaxed atmosphere where people can socialise with others and take part in a range of activities to suit their individual needs.
Full day sessions available on Mondays and Wednesdays 10am – 3pm. Shorter sessions can be provided on request.

Conveniently located in the centre of Stokesley, we have a suite of modern, well-equipped rooms which are available for regular or one-off hire by local groups, businesses or individuals for meetings or training.
